FRONT & CENTER SERIES (Aug 17)

Prior to the 2pm matinee Mr. Lewis Segal, LA Times Dance Critic, will discuss the original ON YOUR TOES choreography and Balanchine's impact on Musical Theatre. Lewis has worked as the National Publicity Director of Capitol/Angel Records, West Coast Publicity Director of ABC Records, and Music Editor of Entertainment World Magazine. He is a frequent contributor to Dance Magazine and Performing Arts Magazine.

Prior to the 2pm matinee Mr. Miles Kreuger, a musical theatre historian, will discuss the historical background of ON YOUR TOES and offer insights into the collaboration of Rodgers and Hart.

Miles Kreuger is founder and director of the Institute of the American Musical, Inc. Originated in New York City in 1972 and now located in Los Angeles, the institute houses the world’s largest archive expressly dedicated to the twin histories of the American musical theater and musical film.
